Quando vuoi sapere cosa fa/se è installato o meno/che versioni portage supporta fai:
eix <nome-pacchetto>
Nel caso di mono fai:
eix mono
o
eix dev-lang/mono

Per le opzioni guarda sempre il man: nessuno è più chiaro di lui.

tuttavia ho cercato ed era richiesto nella soluzione del bug.... ma mi sa che a te non ha risolto più di tanto! :cry:

gli altri pacchetti era scritto nell'output che era consigliato installare anche quelli che ti ho citato. (cosa fanno tutti non lo so!)
Concentriamoci sull'emersione di xfce.
Prova ad avviare la macchina, selezionando Gentoo, che problemi ti da?

Poi ritorna su Salix, monta tutto:
mount /dev/sda"X" /mnt/gentoo/ && mount -t proc none /mnt/gentoo/proc && mount -o bind /dev/ /mnt/gentoo/dev
metti al posto della X il numero della partizione che contiene la root di Gentoo.
Poi
chroot /mnt/gentoo
e poi:
emerge --sync
etc-update (-5)
emerge --depclean
revdep-rebuild
emerge xfce4-meta

Mi riporti gli output?

Cioè, quì dice che con l'opzione --oneshot (-1) si fa emergere un pacchetto ma non viene aggiunto al file del mondo per il prossimo aggiornamento?
Sembrerà chiaro a te, ma a me sembra sibillino. :?
Prova ad avviare la macchina, selezionando Gentoo, che problemi ti da?
Poi ritorna su Salix, monta tutto:
e poi: ... Mi riporti gli output?
Visto che sono già su Salix ed in Gentoo, faccio il contrario. Prima faccio un nuovo giro di comandi di aggiornamento/emersione e ti riporto gli output, Poi vado a vedere che succede ad avviare Gentoo. ;)

il -1: emerge normalmente, ma non aggiunge il pacchetto al mondo (nostro sistema) per il prossimo aggiornamento.

Il giro di compilazione ha dato altri errori?
Se si, visto che lirc suppongo non ti serve (comunicazione con i disposivi infrared) lo mascheriamo!

Allora dai prima di tutto:
etc-update
nel caso sai l'opzione da usare! :D

Per mascherare lirc fai:
echo "app-misc/lirc" >> /etc/portage/package.mask
Si maschera per evitare che portage lo installi!
Talvolta alcune versioni funzionano altre meno, allora si mascherano le versione che non funzionano per evitare che portage le installi.... ;)

revdep-rebuild
emerge xfce4-meta

ps: il motivo per cui non aggiungerlo al prossimo aggiornamento, in questo caso, è dettato dal fatto che il pacchetto soffre di un bug. ;)
