According to our Asian rumors, Haifa team is preparing a big surprise to Intel fans, like it did with Conroe. It seems that the transition from Broadwell to Skylake will be similar to the transition from Prescott to Conroe, and because of this we have not yet seen a Skylake sample.

The CPU architecture will change greatly, so Haifa team has decided to limit the variables to take into account, for example eliminating the FIVR feature. They are concentrating to polish the new CPU cores, because they want a product Bug Free (the TSX-gate is still burning).

Also, Haifa team and the Software team of Intel are developing a new version of Intel C++ Compiler to take advantage of the new arch features.

Thanks to these improvements, the clock speed will can be quite low (like we have seen with Prescott and Conroe), so the problem of overheating will be evaded. The 14nm process node will be not a problem.

Maybe, the Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge owners have found a replacement for their own venerable CPUs.
