Dopo aver ufficializzato il SoC Snapdragon 801 - il quale non è altro che una semplice rinominazione della variante 800 avente codice MSM8974AC - Qualcomm ha presentato altri due SoC, andando così ad ampliare la nuova serie con supporto ai 64-bit inaugurata dal precedentemente annunciato Snapdragon 410.
Gli Snapdragon 610 e 615 dispongono rispettivamente di una CPU quad-core da 1,8GHz ed una CPU octa-core (quad-core 1,8GHz + quad-core 1GHz) basate sulle istruzioni ARMv8 ed archittettura Cortex-A53.
Anche in questo caso non vi sarà una architettura custom come la precedente "Krait" ma semplicemente la medesima di quella ARM (clicca qui per maggiori informazioni).
Completano la loro dotazione hardware la prestante GPU Adreno 405 ed una interfaccia per le memorie a 64-bit con supporto alle RAM LPDDR3, supporto per sensori da 21MPx con registrazione video 1080p@60FPS e display dalla risoluzione fino a 2560x2048 Pixel.
Difficile parlare al momento di prestazioni ma non ci sorprendermo di vederlo superare senza particolari problemi il precedente Snapdragon 600, SoC di punta nei dispositivi di fascia medio/alta dello scorso anno. Il loro arrivo è previsto in versione sample nel terzo trimestre del 2014, mentre i primi dispositivi che lo integreranno saranno disponibili a partire da trimestre successivo.
